An exciting mid-winter event, Premier Napa Valley, creates a buzz when wine brokers and collectors from fourteen countries arrive for the private sale of unique, special selections of Napa Valley's best wines. Wine is purchased at auction while still in barrel and proceeds benefit charities, health care and social programs throughout Napa Valley.
Sponsored by Napa Valley Vintners, last year's sales included a top bid of $75,000 for 5 cases of Shafer Hillside Select "Sunspot block," and 2 cases of Inglenook Rubicon Red, selling for $6,500 each. The auction, was run by Sotheby's, and brought in a total of $2.7 million. The 2023 Premiere event is chaired by Andy Erickson, celebrated winemaker and owner of Favia Winery.
