The loudspeaker was invented in Napa, California in 1915, by Peter Jensen, a Danish scientist. He called it the Magnavox and is featured on a downtown monument. His speakers were used with the first amplifiers for Fender electric guitars in the 1940s. These days, we see state-of-the-art speakers with the name 'Jensen.' Interesting pieces of local history, the paddle-wheeler days, Victorians in Old Town and Napa's pioneers can be discovered on walking tours conducted by friendly guides out of the Historical Society's Goodman Building on First Street. #fenderguitars #jensenspeakers #napahistory #walkingtours #speakers #magnavox
